Fire department morale is low

A gag order imposed by the new fire chief on the department is just one of the new orders of business the fire department is operating under at the present time.

Then he went on to transfer 90 percent of the force to different stations.  Does this seem to you as it does to me that this chief actually wants a department of people who can respect him?

The consequences of closing the downtown station except for one rescue squad of EMS that covers the city north and south and west to 39th Avenue.  No engine company or truck company to cover the high density area of downtown and Harbor Park.

May I suggest that citizens start asking questions as to what’s going on, write letters to the VOP Kenosha News.

What the people in city hall more or less told the citizens is that no one on the department could do the job.  Look back to the previous out-of-town chiefs, they should have learned by those experiences.

I served this city for 38 and a half years on the Kenosha Fire Department.  Morale has never been so low as it is now.  What incentive do the men have now to advance?

People, speak up, support your fire department, write letters.
